We have one of the largest dedicated real estate disputes teams in the City of London.  The team is ranked in the top tier for property litigation by Chambers 2007 and is acknowledged as a market leader and has an established reputation in dispute avoidance.

"Clients of this redoubtable firm enjoy the comfort that comes with knowing that its lawyers "have a sense for understanding what is commercially acceptable - when to fight and when not," and are consistently mindful of keeping costs to a minimum." Chambers 2007

The team deals with all aspects of disputes relating to the use and occupation of land.  These include development, vendor/purchaser and other contractual disputes, landlord and tenant issues (including major rent reviews, dilapidations and lease renewals of commercial premises), judicial review of planning decisions, rights of light, restrictive covenants and real estate misdescriptions.

We also handle real estate-related professional negligence claims involving lawyers and surveyors, estate and facilities management disputes and we deal with the consequences of the financial insolvency of multiple occupiers of real estate.  Our client base is wide and varied and includes international and domestic financial institutions and real estate companies, corporate occupiers from around the world, pension funds, and multi-national businesses.

Department head Nicholas Cheffings, is marked out as "quite simply a hero in these matters, a very astute chap."  The team includes experienced arbitrators and mediators, as well as lawyers with the higher rights of audience qualification.  Chambers 2007
