We advise clients on claims such as: - 

  • unfair dismissal, pay, sex, race and disability discrimination
  • actions for breach of contract (often relating to bonuses or notice periods) and to enforce restrictive covenants
  • issues relating to co-determination rights, trade union recognition, collective disputes, strikes.

In this regard, we appear on a regular basis before (depending on the jurisdiction) local and Federal labour courts, employment tribunals, the employment appeal tribunals, the competent civil courts as well as other bodies such as the Central Arbitration Committee in the UK or other arbitration panels.  In Germany, we have considerable experience of appearing before conciliation boards on disputes with Works Councils.

We are increasingly finding that many larger disputes are suitable for mediation.  In the last year, we have advised clients in several high profile and sensitive matters which have been successfully resolved by mediation.  Our experience puts us in an excellent position to advise clients on those disputes which are suitable for mediation.
