  • acting for an international commodities company in relation to disputes arising from the construction of an aluminum smelter and a related off-take contract
  • acting for an international metals trader in connection with disputes arising from a long-term supply contract
  • advising grain traders on claims arising from contamination of grain and the associated mycotoxin content, and on issues concerning genetically modified soya beans
  • representing clients in arbitration proceedings arising out the de-listing of LME warrants
  • advising gas traders on claims arising from the shutdown of the UK Interconnector because of gas contamination
  • representing gas trading clients in a dispute relating to gas storage facilities
    advising a natural resources company in relation to six substantial disputes involving a variety of different commodities, including alumina, copper, plastics, coal and coal tar
  • advising an energy company on issues concerning third party access to a storage facility for refined products and the trading of refined products held in storage
  • undertaking multi-jurisdictional due diligence for an investment bank in relation to emissions trading matters
  • handled forward purchase of Certified Emissions Reductions from a portfolio of Chinese CDM projects
  • acted on the purchase of 10 million Emission Reduction Units from a Russia JI project pool; and on the commodity total return swap involving 6,000.000 EU Emissions Allowances and Kyoto units
  • advising a large investment bank on a virtual gas storage agreement.
  • advising a commodities company on a contract for the purchase of CERs (certified emissions reductions) where the supplier was in financial difficulties
