Acting for the Bermudan and the Hong Kong liquidators of Akai Holdings Limited and for the BVI and Hong Kong liquidators of Greater Beijing First Expressways Limited.


Leading the Hong Kong team acting for HRH Prince Jefri Bolkiah, the brother of the Sultan of Brunei, in proceedings brought in Brunei and elsewhere by the Brunei Investment Agency and the State of Brunei.


Acting for the liquidators of BCCI both in London and Hong Kong in substantial fraud-related proceedings, the successful defence of claims by former employees for damages arising from the "stigma" alleged to have been suffered by them following the bank's collapse and the complex disputes in Hong Kong between the liquidators of BCCI SA and the liquidators of BCCI Hong Kong.

Crispin is a commercial litigation partner based in London with particular expertise in international and cross-border litigation arising out of insolvency, fraud and asset recovery situations. Crispin returned from Hong Kong in 2003 where he spent five years as one of the resident commercial litigation partners and as Managing Partner of the firm's Hong Kong office.

Crispin has particular experience of cross-border work in a number of foreign jurisdictions including the USA, Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brunei, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and the Channel Islands.

Crispin has dealt with a wide range of commercial disputes before the English High Court, Court of Appeal and House of Lords and before the High Court and Court of Appeal in Hong Kong. Crispin's practice also covers advising on breach of warranty disputes arising in connection with the sales of businesses, prosecuting and defending professional negligence claims, acting for insurers in relation to claims arising under a broad range of commercial indemnity policies and advising banks and other lenders on all aspects of debt recovery and enforcement remedies.

Crispin also has experience of fraud investigation work, having conducted a number of internal investigations for substantial corporate clients.

Crispin was appointed Asia Regional Managing Partner in 2005. He also chairs the firm's pro bono committee.
