Eiichiro's firm, Kubota Patent and Law Office, merged with Lovells Tokyo on 1 January 2008.

He specialises in litigation/counselling in the areas of patent law and all other areas of IP.

Eiichiro studied at the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo University. He qualified as a lawyer in 1991, and as a patent attorney in 1993, and between 1991 and 1994 he worked at a well-known Japanese IP firm. In 1994, Mr. Kubota established Kubota Patent and Law Office.

Mr. Kubota speaks English and Japanese, and is a member of AIPPI, APAA, LES and the Japan Trade Mark Association. He lectures on IP at Touin Yokohama University's law school. He prepared the Japanese section of the publication Intellectual Property in the Global Market Place (John Wiley & Sons, 1999), and he has been published widely in Japanese on matters including patents for business models, copyright in buildings, and trade marks in the internet age.
