Hillel is a litigation counsel focusing on dispute resolution matters including civil and criminal securities litigation and compliance, intellectual property and Internet law, product liability, international arbitration and insurance. He is also a Lecturer at Law at Columbia Law School, teaching a seminar in Internet law. Additionally, Hillel is on the Board of Editors of Cyberspace Lawyer.
Hillel has extensive experience with class action securities litigation and interactions with the US DOJ, SEC and NASD regarding securities trading issues. He has directed internal investigations of banking clients in response to allegations of misconduct, and has helped clients establish and enhance internal compliance and monitoring programs.
He has represented clients in international arbitration matters under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association/International Centre for Dispute Resolution and the International Chamber of Commerce.
In the realm of intellectual property and Internet law, Hillel advises clients on issues of copyright infringement and registration, patent infringement, trademark/trade dress infringement and registration, trademark dilution and theft of trade secrets. He also advises clients with respect to domain name purchases and ownership disputes, Internet privacy, risk analysis of ongoing litigation, as well as contract, licensing, transactional issues and evaluation of IP assets.
Hillel received his JD and BA (summa cum laude) from Columbia University through its Accelerated Interdisciplinary Legal Education Program. He was on the Board of Editors of the Columbia Journal of Law and the Arts, and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
