He was involved in a number of innovative deals including the first UK commercial property securitisation, one of the first securitisations of auto receivables in the UK and the first consumer loan securitisation by a UK clearing bank. His experience of securitisation covers a wide range of different asset types including finance and trade receivables and transactions involving multi-seller conduit structures.
In the capital markets and securitisations field, David advised a range of clients including banks, multi-national corporations and UK corporates in a number of industry sectors. A recent transaction was leading the Lovells team advising National Air Traffic Services on its £600 million structured bond issue, wrapped by MBIA, and the associated refinancing of its bank debt.
David also has considerable experience in corporate finance, having focused in that area earlier in his career. David qualified in 1979 and was elected a partner in 1986.
