Wendelin has been a lawyer since 1983 and a partner of the practice group litigation, compliance, projects, engineering and construction in Lovells' Frankfurt office since 1990.
He focuses on questions of projects, engineering and construction law as well as litigation. He advises his national and international clients regarding the development of major projects, the negotiation of contracts, dispute resolution and risk management with respect to transactions. He represents them in all kinds of disputes (litigation, arbitration, mediation) before national or international courts as well as in arbitration proceedings. Wendelin is also experienced as arbitrator (party-appointed, sole arbitrator, chairman) in ad-hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings (ICC, DIS and others).
Wendelin is specialized in compliance issues, especially in complex civil actions with white-collar crime background. He has in-depth dispute experience in the construction and real estate industry dealing with corruption and fraud scandals. Furthermore he heads the German compliance working group and is also responsible for Lovells' client breakfast sessions on legal compliance in Frankfurt.
He is a member of the German Society for Building Law and a member of the working group for private building and architect's law of the German Lawyers Association (ARGE Baurecht). He has published various articles in German and English law reviews on topics of real estate law, building and engineering projects law as well as compliance. Wendelin recently published an article about civil law claims based on corruption and commercial consequences, BB 2007, p. 1509 - 1515.
After his studies of law and economics at the University of Freiburg he worked there as research assistant at the Institute for European and Public International Law and made an internship with a Mexican law firm in Mexico City.
