Marc Gottridge

Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Restructuring and Insolvency, Class Actions, Commercial Litigation, International Arbitration, International Fraud and Insolvency

Marc, based in the New York office, serves as the Regional Managing Partner for the US. He has 25
years of experience as a litigator in federal and state courts and in various alternative dispute resolution (ADR) forums. He has had lead counsel responsibility for dozens of cases through trial (including jury trial) and appeal.

For the majority of his career, Marc has focused on representing financial institutions and other companies in a wide variety of litigation, including commercial disputes, bankruptcies, class action defense, securities and commodities fraud actions, and white-collar criminal and regulatory matters.

In addition, Marc has extensive experience representing parties in arbitration and mediation. He serves as a volunteer mediator and arbitrator in court-annexed ADR programs in the federal courts in New York, and has also been selected as a mediator and arbitrator by counsel for parties in private disputes.

Marc works closely with Lovells' attorneys in other international offices, including London, the European Continent and Asia, to investigate and litigate international financial fraud cases and trace and recover assets. He is experienced in matters relating to anti-money laundering regulation and prosecution under US law.

Marc is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. In that office he gained significant investigative, trial and appellate experience, including service as Deputy Chief Appellate Attorney.

Marc is a graduate of Harvard University (JD magna cum laude 1978) and Columbia University (AB magna cum laude 1975).
