Acting for Insurance of Australia Group on its acquisition of Equity Insurance Group for £570m

Acting for the management of SMIF, on its sale from existing shareholders STAR Capital Partners, Halifax Bank of Scotland and AMP Capital Investors to Land Securities Trillium, a transaction with an enterprise value of £927m

Equitable Life Assurance Society on the disposal of its non-profit annuity business to Canada Life for £4.6bn and on the disposal of its with-profit annuity business to The Prudential Assurance Company Limited for £1.8bn

Kevin is a partner in the firm's tax practice and is based in London. He has been a partner since 1992. During Kevin's career he has acted both as manager of the firm's London tax practice and as head of Lovells Tax worldwide.

Kevin has extensive experience of a very broad range of corporate and business taxation issues acting for insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers, real estate companies, retail companies and managers of private equity companies. His practice includes advising on corporate acquisitions/disposals and reorganisations; investment funds; insurance; property; international tax; tax disputes and litigation. In recent years he has specialised in the taxation of funds and property whilst continuing to advise on other matters.

Kevin is recognised as a Legal Expert in the 2007 Legal Business Report. Kevin is referred to as "excellent" in the Legal 500 2008 edition.

Kevin is a member of the team who won "Best Tax Team in a Law Firm" at the Taxation Awards 2008.
