Andreas specialises in litigation/counselling in the areas of patent law and all other areas of IP with a focus on the pharmaceutical, medical devices and hightech industries. He has vast expertise in the co-ordination of international patent disputes in Europe, Asia, and the US, and validity litigation in the EPO and national courts. Andreas von Falck is recommended for patent litigation by Chambers Global World's Leading Lawyers (2006-2007), WHOSWHOLEGAL 2005, Managing Intellectual Property, Legal 500, and is recommended as one of 13 leading German lawyers for Patent Litigation by JUVE, Handbook of German Law Firms 2006/2007.

Andreas studied law in Germany, France and Switzerland between 1988 and 1992. He holds a PhD in International Civil Procedural Law from Freiburg University (1997). He is a partner in the firm's intellectual property department in Düsseldorf. In 1995 he worked as visiting attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett and Dunner in Washington D.C., USA. Dr. von Falck has extensive experience in patent litigation in all technical areas, with a specialisation in engineering, telecoms, software, as well as the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry. Andreas handles patent cases in all German Courts and in the European Patent office. In addition, he advises on transactional matters such as negotiating and drafting licensing agreements, the structuring of joint ventures and the acquisition of businesses.

He frequently appears as a speaker on patent law conferences and teaches national and international patent law at Düsseldorf University Intellectual Property Center.
Andreas is the past head of the firm's international IP-practice and is now a member of the firm's management committee, the International Executive.
