Acting for Lloyds TSB in relation to the transfer of the banking business of Cheltenham & Gloucester to Lloyds TSB Bank under Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (2006-2007)


Acting for Wellington Underwriting on Catlin's £590 million recommended cash and shares bid for Wellington (2006-2007)


Acting for Equitable Life on the transfers of its £1.8 billion with-profits annuity business to Prudential and of its £4.6 billion non-profit annuity business to Canada Life (2005-2008)

Charles heads our FIG transactions practice. His practice covers domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, demergers, joint ventures and general corporate advisory work. He has extensive experience of transactions in the financial services sector including transfers of insurance and banking business under Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

A team led by Charles was shortlisted for Legal Business Financial Services and Insurance Team of the Year 2007 for their work on Equitable Life's transfer of its with-profits annuity business to Prudential.
