Acting in a New York arbitration dealing with aggregation issues arising out of the events of 11 September, 2001
Stuart has a wide-ranging practice in dispute resolution and advisory work for the insurance and reinsurance industries and the service providers to that industry. He has been a solicitor-advocate since 2001.
His client base includes insurers (both life and non-life), reinsurers (in London, Bermuda and the USA), Lloyd's managing agencies, insurance brokers, banks and the major accountancy practices.
He has litigated and arbitrated in England, the USA and the Far East.
He has been involved in dealing with the following major problems to hit the insurance and reinsurance markets over the last decade:
- dealing with companies in run-off (both solvent and insolvent);
- the professional indemnity insurance aspects of the UK regulatory reviews of the selling of pensions, FSAVC's and mortgage endowments;
- the PA LMX spiral;
- the creation of fully admitted global D&O programmes.
