International Arbitration Guide International Arbitration Guide

The International Arbitration Guide is a free website provided by Lovells to provide practical assistance to clients and prospective clients who use arbitration to settle disputes.

Services available on the site include:
  • Drafting Engine - takes users through a simple step-by-step process which leads to a tailor-made arbitration clause that can be printed off or inserted into a word-processed document. The Drafting Engine is not designed to draft the most complex arbitration agreements, such as multi-party agreements (such clauses always require fact-specific legal advice), but it ensures that the key elements of a more simple clause are covered.

  • point-by-point Guides to Commencing and Responding to arbitration proceedings;

  • a Costs Calculator to give users an estimate of the costs involved in arbitration proceedings; the full text of the rules of the major international arbitration institutions as well as national arbitration statutes (with summaries) and international arbitration conventions.

  • The full text of the arbitration rules of the ICC, LCIA, AAA and WIPO is accessed by selecting Full Text in the Comparative Table of Rules. This function also makes it easy to compare the features of the ICC, LCIA, AAA or WIPO rules;

  • the Useful Links section also contains links to international and national arbitration and ADR institutions, legal associations and online libraries.
