Lovells expands environmental law team

Lovells’ has expanded its environment and climate change law capability with the hire of former Baker & McKenzie associate Angela Mouton.  Angela will work alongside partner Christopher Norton who heads up the firm's Environment and Climate Change team within the corporate practice in London.  Angela joined Lovells on 2 June.

Angela was previously an associate at Baker & McKenzie where she has focussed on climate change and carbon markets as well as environmental law.  She has also held positions at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, the Law Commission of England and Wales, the Ministry of economic development in New Zealand and Chapman Tripp Sheffield Young in New Zealand.   

Angela joins Lovells' Environment and Climate Change team, which covers environmental law, health and safety, climate change and emissions trading and sits alongside the commercial and regulatory team within the corporate practice.  The team provides support for transactions as well as doing standalone contentious and non-contentious work for clients.  It comprises five fee earners.  The team works closely with the energy, planning and product liability practices with support from teams of specialist lawyers at partner and associate level across Europe, Asia and the US.  Recent examples of the work of the team include advising banks and other financial institutions on a wide range of climate change and emissions trading issues and advising on the new EU chemicals Regulation, REACH
