Lovells China and Hong Kong offices win more gold

21 August 2008

Lovells' Hong Kong office has been awarded TMT Firm of the Year 2008 by Asian-Counsel magazine, in their annual in-house counsel poll which is based on votes and testimonials by close to 400 senior in-house counsel across the region.

Additionally, our China practice has been nominated in the following categories for the China Law & Practice (CLP) magazine Awards 2008:

  • Firm of the Year (International) - Intellectual Property
  • Deal of the Year (Mergers & Acquisitions Sector) - Acquisition of Wuhan Boilers by Alstom
  • Deal of the Year (Private Equity / Venture Capital Sector) - Share acquisition of Oak Pacific Interactive (OPI) by SoftBank

The nominations mark the culmination of CLP's annual research process which has been undertaken in corporation with the IFLR 1000 this year. CLP has canvassed the market to pinpoint the deals and firms leading the market through legal innovation.

The CLP Awards ceremony will be held at Shangri-la’s Kerry Centre Hotel in Beijing on 18 September 2008.

Comment: These awards are continued testament to the firm's leading reputation in China.  They follow on from the firm's success earlier this year in winning the "International Law Firm of the Year, PRC Office" at ALB China Awards 2008 and "China Foreign Firm of the Year" at Managing Intellectual Property Global Awards 2008.
