Around 180 people who work with Lovells at Barclays – including general counsel, Mark Harding, and deputy group general counsel, Judith Shepherd – attended a drinks reception organised by Lovells at the Tower of London on 26 September.  The event was aimed at strengthening ties with one of our most important clients.

Guests were given a guided tour of the Towers by the Yeoman of the Ward and a visit to the crown jewels, before moving on to drinks and canapés in the White Tower.  The senior Barclays attendees, who also included Jeremy Ogden (general counsel, global retail and commercial banking) and Jonathan Peddie (head of litigation, global retail and commercial banking), said they were impressed with the fantastic turnout we had from their staff.

Comment: Holding the event in the Tower of London proved to be a major draw for our Barclays guests, showing that in a competitive marketplace clients are looking for unusual events.  Our clients were also impressed with the level of detail, including the provision of buses to transport them to the venue.
