Our breadth of practice makes Lovells a stimulating and challenging place to work. Despite our smaller but growing size in the U.S., our lawyers work on sophisticated and complex matters. We strongly encourage all of our Summer Associates to work in various U.S. practice areas so they gain an appreciation of the full extent of what Lovells can offer.
Training/MentoringSummer Associates receive training that provides a rigor and depth that sets Lovells apart and places them in good stead as future associates at the firm. The Summer Associate training curriculum includes: Deposition Training, In-House Writing Instructors and Workshop, Oral Advocacy Program and Accounting for Lawyers.
Lovells' Summer Associates are neither sheltered from work that impact directly on our clients nor left without support as they make the leap from student to Summer Associate to associate in a major international law firm. Providing support when needed is ingrained in Lovells' culture. All of our Summer Associates and new associates are assigned to an associate with whom they can discuss career progression and any other work-related issues that arise. Your mentor's insight into the challenges and rewards that you face as a Summer Associate will prove invaluable, even after you have returned to law school. You will also have extensive access to our partners, each of whom is committed to teaching our Summer Associates about the practical skills that are necessary to succeed at Lovells and in the practice of law at the highest level. Of course, it is not all work. We also take the time to get to know one another and showcase our beautiful city.
EventsChicago is a great city, full of opportunity. There is something for everyone, whatever you enjoy music, theater, museums or great sporting events. During the course of the program, our
