Our Chicago practice focuses on litigation and arbitration of commercial disputes venued both in the US and elsewhere around the world. Our largest team specializes in handling insurance and reinsurance disputes for domestic and international companies. Our lawyers also are involved in complex and varied litigation relating to the financial services industry. More recently, we also have added an intellectual property practice, with a particular emphasis on trade secret litigation.
Our lawyers frequently work with lawyers from the firm's other international offices to provide seamless representation in disputes with cross-border implications. Recent examples of our work include: representation, in coordination with our New York office, of a French reinsurance company seeking more than $25 million from a US insurer in federal court; and representation, in conjunction with our New York, London, and Tokyo offices, of a Japanese company in related litigation, arbitration, and bankruptcy proceedings arising out of a multi-billion dollar accounting fraud.
